Dear Members,
Dear Friends,

In the context of the EU rotating Presidency, “Sail for Europe” has for the last six months
been made available to the EC Permanent Representation in Spain to sail the yacht Treaty of
Rome
along the Spanish coast to visit eight different ports including Valencia for the “America’s Cup”,
Vigo for the “European Festivities” and Gijón for the “European Maritime Days”.

With the aim of playing our “link” role between the successive Presidencies, the association has reached
an agreement with the EC Representation in Belgium which will see the Treaty of Rome visiting “Nieuwpoortweek”
(Nieuwpoort, 3 & 4 July), the departure of the “Tall Ship Race” (Antwerp, 10 to 13 July), “Brussels-les-Bains” (Brussels, Béco basin (15 to 18 July) and
and the" Retrouvailles“ in Liège( 04 &05 September).

Next year Hungary and then Poland will hold the Presidency of the EU Institutions.
Any ideas or suggestions to enable the Treaty of Rome to navigate on the Danube or
the Baltic Sea are more than welcome.

In the meantime we would be very happy to have you join in these various events.
Our website will be updated as soon as we get further details about our activities.
Should you wish to give us a hand in the preparation of those activities or simply to sail on the boat,
please contact us at info@sailforeurope.eu.

Looking forward to meeting you on board,
we thank you in advance for your support and help in getting the European Union closer to the European citizens.

Sincerely yours,

The Board of Sail for Europe
